The menu and service were above our expectations. I really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. Fantastic restaurant to take my family out for lunch.
Service is not bad but was there during a slow time frame. Large venue. Good for family or small parties. Didhes are moderately expensive but good for sharing. Sunday noon is great for dim sum but expect to wait as it is a family tradition for many to come at brunch time.🙂
Food tasted good with fast service. Its always our go-to place as we never had to wait long for a table.
It is not the best quality of food but it does the trick. Selection is great but varies by busy periods. When it is slow they do not have as many carts coming by your table. You pay based on the types of items you grab from the cart. Some dishes could be as high as $20. Do not grab lobster. It is mostly just a shell and a lot of garlic and it is pricey.
Good food, good service.
Never have to line up or make reservations as to not many customers as before to those days a few years ago. Prices gone up double is the reason. It is authentic Chinese cuisine and portion of good size.Watch out for servers has moods! Sometimes you get good and friendly service that actually makes your meal taste good and enjoyable. If you are a caucasian, they take for granted that you do not know how to hold a chopstick or drink the soup on the house or eat their sweet dessert at the end. You will be given a fortune cookie instead. Of course, if you like your fortune, go for it. Everyone has the same fortune anyway.
Very nice restaurant, dim sum was excellent, great variety. Will definitely be going back. My wife and daughter and I were quite disappointed when Kingsley closed, now we have a very worthy replacement.
Love this place for dim sum, the quality is good for the dim sum, and plenty of options and variety in dim sum. All the ladies pushing the cart know me and greet me when they pass by my table, totally VIP service. They even know what my fav dishes are, and if they don't have it in their carts, they go get it for me. I love the jumbo oyster specials here, very tasty ad juicy and big. I also come here for dinner from time to time, and the food at dinner service is great too.
Dim sum quality and selection is great! Especially loved the å‘糕,牛百å¶ï¼Œèœ‚胶,豆è…花. The 咸水交was super well done as well, you can tell they deep fry at the correct temperature because it was too greasy to bite into. You might have to wait a little while for the cart with what you’re looking for to come around but it will eventually come! One important thing to note is the prices of the seafood dishes which also come around on carts are INSANELY expensive. We got two steamed scallops in the shell with vermicelli and it cost $30. Otherwise, the prices of the regular dim sum dishes are very reasonable.
This place is fantastic. Every time I travel to Toronto I always go this place for lunch. I love Chinese food and this place always keep me satisfy.
Place was okay. Their hot sauce is a bit salty. Asked for iced water few times and came back with regular water.
Food was delicious, we had a couple of vegetarians who were able to order some delicious mains to share. Overall great experience, Peter did an excellent job waiting on all 12 of us. We were there on a Thursday evening and the restaurant wasn't too busy.
Came here for Christmas night dinner. Food was good to very good. I really like the Szechuan spicy scallops...they were a nice change to the garlic scallops that we normally eat. Price per person was $32 which was not too expensive and not too cheap, perhaps slightly on the more expensive side, but very reasonable. The lotus root soup was a little watered down. The red bean soup was not too sweet and not too watered down.
This place is large and can accommodate small and large groups or just a couple. Large variety of Food which is tasty ! Dim sum comes hot and fresh on carts and during lunch the busier the more variety of dims!!! Best in Missaiga and maybe West end GTA
My friends and I have tried this place and I liked the dishes they served. In terms of cleanliness and atmosphere this restaurant is decent. It felt a little but crowded but it wasn't too bad. The staff are nice, though. I'd come back again to try more of their dishes!
There aren't many dim sum places left in the GTA that still have staff push around carts loaded with dim sum treats. Emerald Chinese Restaurant is still one of these places.Located in a plaza at the southwest corner of Hurontario St & Eglinton Ave W, you'll find a large but very busy parking lot.We were seated immediately. We watched as meal carts rolled by all the while staff announced what they had.Our whole dim sum meal consisted of small ($2.99. per), medium ($3.99 per), large ($4.99 per), special ($6.69 per), and deluxe ($7.69 per) treats totalling 44 items for $285.45 tax & tip included.Emerald charges $1.99 per person for tea; we have 16 in our party. The service and food was good. The decor was nice. Restrooms were clean.
One of the absolute best Chinese (Guangdong) restaurants around town. Excellent service and setting, all around friendly and VERY high quality food. Cannot recommend enough
Good food , clean place, nice decor, good service, good for occasions
Good food. Best to go with someone who knows what they are serving.Very good service. Even when busy.
